Living on a small farm with plenty of animals, Mrs Leigh Douglas wanted to create a bright and open space that would let her fully enjoy her scenic surroundings.
Her goal was a garden room that felt connected to the outdoors, rather than a traditional extension, providing a comfortable space for relaxing and gathering with family and friends.

Building Mrs Douglas’ Lean-to Conservatory
Mrs Douglas chose to work with a ConservatoryLand Approved Installer for the installation.
The installation team arrived early, coordinating seamlessly with the delivery from ConservatoryLand, and worked carefully around her animals, ensuring there was no mess or clutter. Mrs. Douglas shared that the team was friendly and professional, from start to finish.
The conservatory installation was quick and efficient, thanks to the ConservaBase foundation system, which eliminated the need for traditional foundations. ConservaBase requires much less ground excavation, significantly reducing disruption and mess in her garden, with the construction time taking just four days.
With its glass windows and a clear polycarbonate roof, the lean-to conservatory now provides a light-filled space for Mrs Douglas and her family to enjoy. The conservatory has quickly become the heart of her home, serving as a cosy retreat for reading, social gatherings, and unwinding with her animals.
The clean white PVCu frames and matching white handles blend seamlessly with Mrs. Douglas’ existing home, complementing the windows of the house while providing a bright, inviting space.
Reflecting on her experience, Mrs Douglas described ConservatoryLand as “one of the best companies” she’s ever worked with and would 100% recommend them to others. She found the clear communication and streamlined process made it simple to achieve the space she had envisioned.
The new conservatory has transformed how Mrs. Douglas and her family enjoy their home, providing uninterrupted views of the farm – the very reason they fell in love with the property in the first place. Now, they can make the most of it, without worrying about the unpredictable British weather.
